U.S. banking announced: Slava Slavinskiy as head of energy banking in the European region.


Today the U.S. banking giant announced internally the appointment of Slava Slavinskiy as head of energy banking in the European region. He will report jointly to James Bardrick and Manolo Falco, who run banking in the region, and to Peter Tague and Andrew Safran, the U.S.-based heads of Citigroup’s global energy, power and chemicals group.

Citigroup simultaneously said Pablo Escondrillas, one of its bankers in Madrid, also will join its energy group in London.

Slavinskiy, 40 years old, is a 12-year Citigroup veteran. Since 2008, he has been co-head of banking in Russia and has done deals for clients including auto makers Renault, Volkswagen and Daimler, as well as Russian corporate giants Lukoil and Norilsk Nickel. Prior to Citigroup, Slavinskiy worked at Deutsche Bank and Société Générale. Escondrillas, meanwhile, has done work for corporate heavyweights himself, including Spanish utility giant Endesa. via wsj.com

Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) added 1.71% to $4.17 on 58.68 million shares. So far this year, the stock went up more than 25%. Today, the stock opened at $4.16-$4.20. So far, the market capitalization of the stock stands at $120.83 billion.
